Moving is one of the most stressful events in a person's life. There are many things to consider: packing, storage, timelines when events need to happen, and selling your home.
Here are some handy resources to make your life easier.

In the New Westminster area, you have to contact City Hall at 604-521-3711. Here's their website: http://www.newwestcity.ca/cityhall/finance/index.htm
Phone: You'll have to work with Telus to have a new phone line installed or move your existing line to your new home: http://www.telus.com/cgi-ebs/jsp/homepage.jsp, or phone 604-310-2255.
Cablevision: Need to move your cable? Set up high speed internet? Contact Shaw at http://www.shaw.ca/ or phone 604-629-3000.
Change your address: Contact Canada Post at their website: http://www.canadapost.ca/personal/offerings/change_of_address/can/default-e.asp, and complete their change of address form two weeks prior to moving.
Strata information: if you've purchased a strata apartment, or townhouse, you'll have to call the property management company and find out if there's a move-in fee, as well as give your full particulars for strata monthly maintenance payment.
