Moving is one of the most stressful events in a person's life. There are many things to consider: packing, storage, timelines when events need to happen, and selling your home.

Here are some handy resources to make your life easier.

Electricity: Contact BC Hydro. Here's their website where you can do it online: bchydro.com in the Greater Vancouver area. In the New Westminster area, you have to contact City Hall at 604-521-3711. Here's their website: newwestcity.ca

Phone: You'll have to work with Telus or Rogers to have a new phone land line installed or move your existing land line to your new home.

Cablevision and Internet: Need to move your cable? Set up high speed internet? Contact Telus or Rogers.

Change your address: Go to the Canada Post website to find out about mail forwarding.

Strata information: if you've purchased a strata apartment, or townhouse, you'll have to call the property management company and find out if there's a move-in fee, as well as give your full particulars for strata monthly maintenance payment.

Taxes in New Westminster: here's their website:
